"Vals California Griddle"

Back in the 1950's, my father designed a camping griddle which was deep enough that when he fried fish the oil would not splash over the sides. Over the years, I've added Teflon coating on this cast aluminum griddle. The pictures show fish on the open fire as well as eggs, bacon and potatoes, which are all terrific cooked on the Vals California Griddle. Numerous other foods cook to perfection on the griddle too. The griddle was designed mainly for camping stoves, open fires, trailers, and motor homes. Home use has shown the versatility of this griddle. It's great on the barbecue.

The invention, called Vals California Griddle, features two size variations for an aluminum alloy griddle with Teflon coating. The first version has a dimension of 12 x 19 x 2 and the second version has a smaller dimension of 12 x 16 x 2; excluding the handles. Although the smaller griddle was specifically made to fit Coleman type camping stoves, it could be used on other cooking devices. The primary object of this invention is to provide a deep dish griddle that prevents splashing of hot liquids used with cooking. With Vals California Griddle, consumers can use the same cooking device on the stove, on a grill, or over a campfire.
