"Multipurpose Gripping Band"

"Hi, my name is Russell Shands, age 67. Four years ago, I was struggling to open a jar of applesauce, I stretched a couple of rubber bands around the lid and it popped right open. Then I had the idea to come up with a special band at least 1/8" thick that could be stretched onto or manufactured onto a jar or a lid to increase torque."

The Extension Band and Stretchy Rubber Cap is the gripping assembly used to secure around the rim of a lid on a jar, therefore, providing a non-skid surface for the user to grip, turn and effectively open the product. It's form fitted between protrusions, which the protrusions and troughs cooperate to define shoulders that allow the user to maintain a grip for preventing slippage. By placing the Extension Band and Stretchy Rubber Cap over the upper and lower portions of the jar, the user is provided with a better gripping surface for assisting to stabilize the jar while exerting torque along the body. Thus, safely loosening any screw-type lid and eliminating sore, aching hands and fingers so often associated with gripping and turning hard to hold objects.
